On Saturday Tír na nÓg met Ahoghill in Lougheil for the under 14B championship final. From the throw in Tír na nÓg were on top with Aine Devlin lifting the ball and putting it over the bar within the first 20 seconds. This set the pace for the team and Aine herself who lead from the front and showed herself as the leader she is. Aine continued the scoring by keeping cool and putting over a 45 for the next score of the match. Ahoghill tried but Tír na nÓg were here and meant business with Naoishe Graham scoring a superb goal. Ahoghill pushed forward and gave everything to try and get a response but Carla O'Neill had other ideas and made a superb save and clearance out field where her denfence were working hard which allowed Caitlin McAreavy to link up with her little sister. Emma used her speed and skill to drive threw the Ahoghill Defence and score a classy goal. Niamh Callin wanted to ensure the lead was to continue by trying for a goal with her left foot but unfortunatley her efforts hit the post and went wide. Aine Devlin, with the help from her midfield partner Caitlin Martin broke every puck out which allowed Aine to capitalise on the loose ball and score three super points from play giving all supporters and players alike a great feeling heading into the 2nd half. At half time the score line read 2"5 to 0"0. Ahoghill, after what must of been one hell of a team talk came out rearing to go with Catarina Barkley scoring 2 45s! Tír na nÓg didn't even have time to catch their breath before Ahoghill,
with help from Niamh Barkley scored 2 goals!  Bronagh Devlin took control of the game sweeping everything up in the back line with her "god like hands" gave a great pass to Caitlin Martin who sent over a point to give the girls in blue the boost they needed to step up their game! Aine Devlin, with her accurate 45 skill taking was under pressure but managed to ensured another 2 points for her team! Ahoghill dug deep and fought to the last minute of the game but the girls from the "Hill" were here for one reason only....TO WIN. Aine, with her last hit of the game walked forward to hit a 45 and just at that it dropped over the keepers head and  into the back of the net. Liam mc bride who done a 1st class job in the middle blew the final whistle to make Tír na nÓg deserving winners of a score line of 3"8 to 2"2 to the delight for the large Tír na nÓg crowd!!!

Well done to all involved......
